Forks Over Knives
This is one of the few movies that I say everyone needs to see. The film makes a compelling argument that a plant-based whole food diet can reverse our nation’s degenerative “lifestyle” diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. I think of Forks Over Knives as an empowering, level-headed food documentary. Also see Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead.
The Business of Being Born
This movie is sweet and real. It documents the challenges of pregnant women wanting to treat their birth as a natural process rather than a medical intervention. There are so many misconceptions about pregnancy and birth and this movie is a great primer for any parents-to-be.
Nonviolent Communication
A book, a way of speaking, and a method for conflict resolution. This simple way of changing our language can change our world. You may hear this being referred to as Compassionate Communication or NVC, and there are groups and classes to get involved in to practice this subtle shift in the way we talk to each other.
